Spring Ballet Auditions

This year we are so excited to present Nemo & Friends: A Tale Under the Sea! This incredibly imaginative ballet brings your favorite fishy characters to life through a funny and heart-warming storyline perfect for all ages.

All children ages 4-18 are invited to audition. Auditions are open to all levels of dancers from new to ballet to prima ballerina!

You do not need to be a DDC dancer to participate. This experience is open to our entire community!

We ask all dancers to RSVP so we can ensure we have the proper staff ready to create a fun and efficient audition process for everyone. Parents must read and understand the performance commitment before attending auditions.

All auditioning dancers are cast in a role, so please only attend auditions if you are committing to the entire performance experience.

All auditioning dancers are cast in a role. So by attending auditions, you are committing to the 12-week rehearsal process and the performance. Specific dates are listed at the top of this page.

We do our best to keep this opportunity as affordable as possible. The total cost includes the audition, all ballet rehearsals, a beautiful costume your dancer gets to keep, and a magical performance experience. Tickets to the performance are sold separately. 

Petite Performers (4-6 years old) - $250
Performers (7+ years old) - $350

Yes, our dancers (ages 4+) who are enrolled in our ballet program (pre-ballet, onyx ballet foundations, opal, quartz, amethyst, ruby, emerald) are automatically included in our ballet performance. Each class will take the stage 1-2 times for their class dance.

However, if your dancer is interested in more stage time, they can audition for a special role or additional dance! Many of our ballet dancers audition as well as dance onstage in their class dance.

If your dancer is in a non-ballet class at DDC (ballet/tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, etc.), they are not automatically included in our Spring Ballet performance. These dancers participate in our June recital.

The good news is that they are invited to audition for our Spring Ballet which gives them two performance opportunities a year! Whoop whoop 🙌

• VARIETY OF CLASSES: From beginner to advanced, ballet to hip-hop, recreational or competitive, we have something for every child ages 18 months – 18 years.
• PERFORMANCES: We host two performances at professional theatres with professional lighting design, experienced sound technicians, and dedicated management staff. Our performance experience is second to none!
• MULTIPLE TEAM OPPORTUNITIES: We offer a Performance Team and 6+ Competitive Teams that travel near and far to compete against other amazing dancers and learn from the best teachers throughout the US!
• PAID LEADERSHIP ROLES: We offer dancers the chance to gain real-world experience as dance teacher assistants and administrative interns. Our Interns are paid employees and learn from the best in the biz!

Yes! Our Spring Ballet is a community event open to all children ages 4-18. With a shorter commitment time than a full year term class, it's a great opportunity for children new to dance or dancers who attend another studio.

We simply want to spread the joy of ballet and the many benefits of taking the stage with our amazing community.
